What is the ISTQB Certified Tester
Scheme?
This is an international qualification scheme specifically for
software and system testing professionals. See the Certification
page for an overview of both the ISTQB and ISEB schemes.
-
What is the ISEB Qualification
Portfolio?
The British Computer Society's portfolio
offers qualifications in four areas including Software Development and
Delivery, this area comprising two segments: Systems Delivery and
Software Testing.
-
Which qualifications are Aqua
Computing accredited to provide?
We are currently accredited to provide
courses for the ISTQB/ISEB
Foundation and ISEB
Intermediate Certificates.
-
Is the Foundation Certificate an
ISTQB or ISEB qualification?
This is the entry level qualification for
software testers in both the ISTQB Certified Tester Scheme and the ISEB
Qualification Portfolio. Courses and exams are derived from the ISTQB
syllabus. See the UK Testing Board's
website. The multiple choice exam has questions set from K1 to K3
level [Remember, Understand, and Apply].
-
Do testers need to take the ISEB
Intermediate Certificate?
It's a prerequisite for the ISEB
Practitioner, but is not required for the ISTQB
Advanced. As with the Foundation Certificate it's examined by
multiple choice, but questions are mainly scenario based and include
analytical questions at K4 level.
-
How are the ISTQB Advanced and ISEB
Practitioner examined?
As with the ISEB Intermediate level, the ISTQB
Advanced level is examined by multiple choice, is mainly scenario based, and includes analytical
questions at K4 level. In our view this method of exam at K4 level is
much harder than Foundation level, which is one reason why less
experienced candidates may wish to take the ISEB Intermediate
qualification first. The ISEB Practitioner exams are essay based, and
have questions at K5 and K6 level [Synthesise and Evaluate].
